National Progress Reports in Agrometeorology

The WMO Secretariat prepared and circulated a detailed questionnaire for the preparation of National Reports on Progress Made in Agricultural Meteorology by Members per Recommendation 1 of CAgM-XIV. In accordance with this recommendation, the WMO Secretariat will continue to compile the information in a comprehensive database to make it available to members.

Investigation of influence of meteorological factors on the appearance and spreading of forest fires. Appropriate pilot project was realized under the leading of Hydrometeorological Service of Montenegro during previous two years. It is expected that warning and protection system based on the forest fire weather index operational calculations will be established during the next year in the south-west parts of Montenegro (Appendix No 2). In mentioned area which lies along the Adriatic coast, forest and other wild land fires cause considerable loss during the dry summer months.
